He likes to lick my face a lot so not kissing him is not an option. But he recently played with a cockroach. Is there any way I can disinfect him? I’m afraid bleach will change the color of his fur. Help!

I have no idea where you got the idea that cockroaches are in any way dirty. They are NOT. Cockroaches are certainly disgusting but their hygenic habits keep them quite clean. On survival courses we eat cockroaches right off the ground. No rinsing or disinfecting required.
And, NO, they don’t taste like chicken.
It’s more likely the cat is in more danger from what’s in your mouth than you from his. Cats saliva has been found to contain anti-bacterial agents. That is why cats are about odorless: the saliva kills odor causing bacteria they pick up in their fur. My own cats seem to prefer a good long petting session, with scratches and tummy rubs included, to a kiss. Bet yours would too.
I love my cat to pieces but kissing him on the mouth is definitely not something I would consider.
If your cat likes to lick your face and you don’t want him to do that then stop him from doing it…simple really.
And as for disinfecting him…bleach will do more than change the colour of his fur…it could kill him!
your cat won’t have any lips ot tongue if you put bleach on him, if you want to kiss him then do it, it won’t do any harm, he licks his butt and eats bugs thats what cats do, but don’t put bleach on him,

cats mouths are full of harmful bacteria that have nothing to do with roaches. Kissing it on the mouth is an odd thing to do, it is a cat, not a boyfriend.

Just wait the same as you do when he licks his butt. No nead to disinfect him. Cats are very clean.
